Too late To Go Back To High School??? Stick With G.E.D??

My boyfriend was expelled from high school back in January ’07. After a month, for multiple reasons (not excuses), he decided to get his G.E.D, I guess for a faster way. Anyways, I dont know exactly what they do before you get the g.e.d, but he’s been taking classes at the place since march. So im hoping it ends soon.

Well recently he’s been thinking about going back to High school and getting his Diploma. I’ve told him that I thought it was too late anyway PLUS…when he’s through…he’s THROUGH. I love it that he wants to go back and would encourage it but I keep thinking that it’s too late. REASON WHY I DENY IT IS BECAUSE OF THAT REASON AND THE THOUGHT OF THE CREDITS HE MIGHT HAVE TO MAKE UP IN THE END.

IS IT TOO LATE?? HE TOOK MY ADVICE BUT IM STILL PONDERING ON THINKING THAT HE MIGHT HAVE A SECOND CHANCE….

NOW IM THE ONE WHO NEED THE ADVICE.

HE’S 17 AS OF AUG 20TH AND IM 16 LOL IF THAT HELPS ANY

It’s never to late for him to go back to school and regardless of the reasons that he was initially expelled, I commend him for going for his GED or for him wanting to get back into school. He should be supported in his decision to continue his education no matter what. You as his girlfriend should want that to…it will only help his future along.

In regard to his GED, once he completes these preparation courses, he will be ready to take the GED exam. The time frame can fluctuate.

Additionally, he can possibly either return to his original school and discuss things with a counselor there or he can continue with the GED prep coursed. Also, depending on where he lives he may have the choice of completing an equivalency diploma program. It’s like going back to school but in a different setting. In this case he wouldn’t have to take the GED exam. This choice will take a little longer but may be easier to complete than the GED.

you are all still young. no its not ever too late. back in the late 80’s i was in stuttgart germany as active duty military. this guy in my unit had a young wife. when she came over they enrolled her to go back to high school. before she graduated she got pregnate and still completed for her deploma. never too late to do something great. and you never know whom he might impress to stay in school just by the power of his actions to go back and do it. good luck to you all. never get in his way of his education experiance. in fact join in. i know you both would enjoy it. best things on earth education, God, excercise and family. Not in that order.
