This is VERY important! (10 points to give away!) Are these SAT scores considered good?
Math – 470
Writing – 460
This was the score to me first SAT test. Please try to answer all the questions below:
1. For writing, I got a 460.Are the multiple choice and essay already added in or do I add that score to 460?
2. Please tell me if each score is considered good/ok/bad
3. Which of the three do most schools really look at? I know that the writing part is new so most schools aren’t too concerned with that.
4. Will I do better the next time I take it? (in October!)
5. How can I do well then next time around?
6. If my academic grades are shaky (D, C, and B’s) and I really didn’t do sports or get any awards at school, but I do well on the SATs, how will colleges look at that?
7. If you took the test, how did you do on it? (what were your scores and how did you prepare?)
Thank you all so much for answering these questions! I know I asked too much, but any detailed information you can give me will be very helpful!

3.The schools look at them equally along with your high school transcripts.
4.- 5.You might do better if you study, you can get some really good study material for taking the SAT’s at any good book store.
6. Again refer to 3.
7. Personally I scored a 1540! I don’t remember the individual scores any longer its been over 15 years, yet I bought some of the Best books on the market at the time to study.
Just remember one thing, Study as much as you can, but not the night prior to the test. And don’t go in with a nervous feeling about not getting into a particular school, this will only get your hopes up and you will do poorly on the test.
It’s only a test.
The SAT is now 2400 pts, so your average score is really much lower.
Study hard and you’ll do better next time!
