Should I try to talk to my principal or no?
Ok so today me and my friend walked out of class and it was my choice. Well my teacher wrote us up and the teacher wrote that my friend “influenced and wouldnt take no for an answer.” because I think he misunderstood why I walked out. Well my friend got called to her office and I saw her go in so I went in with her and I tried telling the principal that she had no influence over my decision. She wouldn’t listen to me because she wanted to go by what the teacher said and wouldnt even believe my friend so my friend got an after school detention for next Wednesday and I got nothing but a call home by the teacher. Since I was just as guilty as my friend should I try to talk to my principal and see if she can adjust her punishment or give me the same punishment or let my friend be upset only her got in trouble? We talked to the teacher and he said it doesn’t matter if what he said or what we say is true that it should stay like it is no matter if he was wrong. That really makes me mad.

Well, it is easy to just skip detentions. Typically schools never find out and if they do, they can’t do much anyways (other than a suspension, which is a free vacation day). If you want, you and your friend could just skip school on the day of the detention and in all likelihood the incident would never be brought up again.
