School entry age for japan?
Can someone tell me what is the age range for students in japan when studying in middle school, high school, college.. etc and the the amount of years to study at that particular level? I know it is compulsory to enter kindergarten at the age of 6..

The total number of years is the same as in the States.
Kids start school at age 6.
Elementary School is 6 years.
Junior High School is 3 years.
High School is 3 years.
(So the total number of years through the end of high school is 12 years, but the number of years classified as junior high and senior high are different.)
Most kids go to preschool from the age of 4.
