Question for joining sports teams?

I only have 2 years of high school left and i want to get into a good college. My friends tell me to join teams but i have lots of questions about it. What is a physical? What is it for? How can and what if i fail?

My eyesight isnt too well, without my glasses i cant really do anything. Would they still let me in since my eyes are really terrible? In PE, I cant catch well, aim and shoot well, nor can i see the “birdy” in badminton. I was lucky i got a lazy and easy PE teachers.

I can understand it if i dont make a team because im not physically fit. But if i do make a team, my terrible eyesight and poor reflexes and poor fitness would keep me on the bench or make me into a “water boy.” I cant enter college on money alone, but if they admission guy sees that i sit on the bench most of the time, he might not accept me. Y bother joining sports if it would only have the same results as not joining sports i say. I can focus more on other things this way.

If you are a person who is good at manage your time. Talk to the coaches about being the team manager. This is the person who makes sure that everyone knows when to show up for practices and games, helps keep track of the grades, writes down the stats for the games, calls the coaches from the other teams to see if they will need any special assistant when they are at your school playing. I was like you in sports, then one of my teachers who was the baseball coach asked me if I could help manage the team. You never know, once you are the manager the coaches might let you practice with the team everyone once in a while.

increasing activity is a must. Begin jogging working up to running without a doubt. i know it sounds simple however for lacrosse, soccer, tennis and even crew you will stand out early if you have more endurance than others during your tryout. Even if the smaller skills lack your positive attitude and desire to want to be better will stand out. I am a golfer and this is something that I am excited for you for. This and tennis are the only two sports that you have listed where the outcome is in your hands. Every time I played a high school match I played my guts out and if they won and I lost it was only because they were better than me. I wasnt standing in my own way. I hope that makes sense. My advice for golf. Hit alot of golf balls, then hit more. Putt until dark and do it again the next day. try and play in a junior tournament this summer. It will introduce you to the competitive scene and you will meet golfers your age. Trust me they were at your skill level at one point. Have fun good luck!
