According to plagiarism.org, “As with any wrongdoing, the degree of intent and the nature of the offense determine its [punishment’s] status.” There are academic punishments for plagiarizing on reports or projects that will give one a failure in the assignment, failure in course, or expulsion. Legal punishments: “fined between $100-5,000 and up to one year in jail” unless one plagiarized and got paid for it, which will add more to cost and years in jail.
One shouldn’t plagiarize and I agree with the person above, if you need more time, just ask for it and most of the time, your teacher will give it to you, but sometimes teachers are looking for a reason why you can’t turn your papers in on time. It should be a good enough reason instead of procrastination.

A fine is the least of your worries. Plagerism can be punished with academic probation or expulsion. You can recieve an automatic F with a note marking you as someone who plagerises. It can seriously ruin your academic career. There’s really no reason why you should plagerize. If you want to use someone’s idea, just credit them for it. Some schools will not accept individuals who have plagerized and in some cases a school can withold your diploma.
If you are panicked over an assignment that is due, just tell your teacher that you need an extension and most teachers will give you that.

Plagiarism is a civil matter so there would be no fine. In school you would be disciplined perhaps even expelled. If you used someone else’s music or writing you could be sued. In some cases the judgment have been huge.

in my school you get an F for the quarter and the put this slip on your permanet record saying the date the assignment and stuff you palagerized it. So say in the 9th grade you forge a science paper then in the 12th grade you do it again your teacher will know you do often and now you would have 2 slips on your permanent record, so when your future boss reviews it or college they will know what you did and stuff and that sucks…

If you publish something and it is plagiarized, fines are in the thousands of dollars and there can be jail time. At schools, you could fail the class or even get expelled.
