So, I was wondering why this award was such a big deal in high school, but nobody cares about it in college.
And yes, I did receive it in high school, but does it really matter now?

They don’t care about it in College because they didn’t get one. All awards are significant. All significance is less significant in college. Remember only the top 20 percent of your high school made it to college. If you were in the top 10 percent, you are now the average.

Some folks get band scholarships. When my son won it, the prize was band camp–paid for.
