Is there really such thing as a permanent record?

Does it really exist or is it just something to threaten kids with?

Everything that is recorded is there ! We have the impression that anything going on record is erased and then is lost, but you never know.

What records are you talking about ? It seems that you are talking about a legal / criminal record and that stays lifelong. After a certain period of time it may become something which may be released of it’s importance but it remains and can be called by anyone anytime in life.

So take care.

Yes, there is a permanent record. Anything put on your permanent record before you turn 18 is confidential and sealed, unless a judge orders it opened. He may do so to prove you have a history of crime, violence, and drug use. Anything on your record after you turn 18 is a matter of public record, and will be seen by future employers, among other people. To be a teacher, government employee, foster parent, etc., you want a clean record.

you got me
I was always told that after your 18 as long as only minor things you get it wiped clean. But yes there is always a record and paper trail if you have done something so in that since yes you always have a record of what you have done.

Yes it exist, it is kept in your school districts main office and when you graduate you can go their and request it and they will give it to you, but not until your out of school so don’t try.

And a copy of some of it is kept in the school you are attending.
