Is Harvard a uni or college???
our guidance counellor(Canada) said today that in US they dont even distinguish between college and uni………is that true?? do you guys just have colleges or know post-secondary eduaction as a college?

I’m also Canadian.
My understanding is that they have Community College, which is what we call college in Canada.
Then there are State Universities/Colleges, which have better reputations, and are government funded mostly. These are often just as good as Universities that are well known like Harvard.
Universities (like Harvard) are not primarily run by the gov’t, and are considered prestigious. Of course Harvard is a famous one…but not all Unis are better than State schools.
