Im expected to always get scolding in my new work place. How do i hadle with it?

Its my first time working and I’ve decided to work in the kitchen. You see, my dream was always to become a chef. So i just finished high school and currently waiting to get into college. But in the mean time, I plan to work and earn some extra cash. But the boss in the restaurant that I’m going to work in said that I’m going to have to deal with a lot of yelling by the customers and co workers. This really scares me. how do i deal with it? Please Help.

Thanks in advance.

I’ve never heard of customers yelling at the kitchen workers, so it is more likely that it would be your co-workers who would be doing the yelling. Realize that most of it is just a matter of getting what they need done, and it isn’t being done in anger. Do not make little comments back to them, as someone suggested. It will just inflame any anger that they do have. Listen to them and do your work.

I suspect that the boss told you this because he felt that you might be oversensitive, and he wanted to make sure you didn’t get too shaken up by the craziness in a kitchen.

Smile at them and either say Jesus loves you or have a good day.
