If I went to Medical School in the US, could I still get a license in, say, England?

I want to be a doctor, but would love to live in England… so this is basic curiosity I guess.

u have to check out with England’s law to getting a license there if you’re a foreign citizen.

i know that for the us, lets say that if you came to the us and have a medical degree from lets say Mexico, you would have to take the all of the USMLE x 3 and pass all 3 to get your medical license from the us. i have heard that some people don’t pass the usmle and end up going to medical school again even though they have a foreign medical degree… good luck!

All distant places knowledgeable physicians could bypass the USMLE with the intention to be eligible to prepare interior the U. S.. After acquiring passing scores you’re able to placed up your credentials to the state licensing board. each and every state is distinctive and a few states have their very own licensing checks besides to eveything else. while you’re customary right into a uk college (and that’s taking place much less oftentimes) then you extremely’re somewhat plenty obligated to end all your training and trining in that device, as there are variations between the two training systems. in simple terms through fact the U. S. has its USMLE, the united kingdom has the PLAB. you will could bypass the PLAB with the intention to progression interior the united kingdom and, could you come back to the U. S., take the USMLE. in case you achieved all your training and education interior the U. S., you will possibly nonetheless could take the PLAB to prepare interior the united kingdom, too.

I’ve been looking up the same information…I read something like you can become a US doctor, but you have to apply for something special to be allowed to practice in England. Sorry I don’t have the exact info.

I also read that there are a lot more doctors in England than in the US, so you can expect to be paid less over there. Just something to consider…

If you were to complete all of your training and obtain your board certification in the US, you would highly prized in the UK (where there is a shortage of physicians). Due to this shortage, you would be working with mostly non-English physicians.

The General Medical Council is the governing authority over the UK health system: http://www.gmc-uk.org/

You should be able to find the answers to all of your questions here.

You need to be Muslim to live in England. I believe England gave their country away to them like Spain did.
