I think every email can be traced back to its original sender. Obviously you don’t want her to know it was you so it can’t be good. How about just typing a note and leaving it on her desk or mailing it to the school office.

Of course he’ll be able to track it. Some way, some how he could find out it was you. The only thing that could possibly happen is; 1. you make it really hard to track for example, you bounced it off all over the world wide web before it reached his server 2. you used an alternate email server you used a server that is based for that kind of stuff 3. you used a program that will redirect the server that it was sent from you download a $1000 dollar program that will somehow redirect it before it left the server I guess what I’m trying to say is that he could somehow track it by himself if no trickery was used or he could hire a professional which will find it out eventually, it may just take him longer.

Yes. She can if the mail is threatening or insulting for example. I’ve seen many cases like that and, remember, that every school has at least one Technology Specialist that would help out to find out. If this person cannot, then there are a few of them at the school district level.

Be careful. I’ve seen many lives destroyed because of gossip and assumptions.

Also, and I really hope this is not your case, when the e-mail is threatening or abusive, it is considered a crime, and, that’s why schools and districts have those specialists. These people are professionals, know what they’re doing, and this is one of the many duties they have: Assisting to resolve things like this one to whom ever needs it.

There is no such thing as anonymous on the Internet. Every email can be traced back to it’s originator. The big question is, will she care enough to find out.

If you want it to be truly anonymous send it to her by regular mail.

Why would you want to do this? This doesn’t sound like a good idea. Are you trying to clue her in about something that is going on in the class, or are you wanting to say something mean about her? If you are cluing her in, then maybe ok, but otherwise, absolutely not.

Just set up a new account, making sure not to use your real name.

I just hope you are not doing this to send “hate mail”. If you do, she may take out her anger on the whole class because of it.
