If I don’t have a full load, how long until the insurance company drops me off my parents plan?
Do they know right away or could i squeak by under their radar for a semester?

If they require proof of enrollment, they won’t find out until the policy is up for renewal (typically auto insurance policies are renewed every 6 months). When I was in school, living at home, I was on my parents plan with State Farm. They didn’t require any proof of course load that I’m aware of. Plus, the Good Student discount was kept on the policy until I turned 25, even though I was finished with school at 21. I’d guess that you can squeak by…just don’t give them cause to look into it by having an accident or something!!

You parents should get a letter from the insurance company stating they are dropping you by a certain date unless you prove you are carrying a certain amount of school credits. They may offer to keep you on if they pay extra for it.
