Try to be exposed as much as possible to the language.

*Watch tv, listen to the radio and always try to understand what you are listening to. Even if its only a few words here and there.

This will help you train your ear, not only to learn new vocabulary but to understand different accents and paces.

*Read. The more you read the better. But read with a view to adding vocabulary you can use. It is good to have a goal of learning 1,3,5,10 words everyday whatever you think you can handle.

*Talk. Use the language as much as possible and don’t be lazy about it. Remember, learning any language will require effort!

I also think it is important to tell the people around you, friends and family to correct you when you make a mistake. And dont forget that making mistakes is a part of learning. Dont expect perfection from yourself, learn to laugh at yourself and if necessary cry. But dont give up, it is possible.
