First of all – it is normal to want a change at your age… it sounds like you have a general idea of what it is you are interested in. Do you have the college education to get there? You might try doing on-line courses in Behavioral Science (this would cover all three areas you are considering). Try NYIT.edu – Ellis College. It is an accredited university and you can do everything on-line… without having to sit in a classroom. Classes are only 6 weeks long – and they are interactive.

The next thing you might want to try is look in your local phone book for people who have these careers. Schedule an appointment with them. Let them know that you are interested in changing to a similar career and would it be possible to “shadow” them for a day or two… or interview them to see if it is something you might be interested in… most people in THESE particular areas are very willing to help you find out if it is truly something that you would like to do.

Lastly – begin taking courses…. you will discover rather quickly if it is boring and dull or if it is something that strikes your fancy and makes you feel passionate about doing it.

You can also go to any book store and pick up a variety of tests that will help you hone in on a career that matches your personality….

It is okay to change careers. We aren’t our parents… who kept the same job for 40 or 50 years and were completely satisfied. We are growing, changing, evolving beings that are on the look out for improvement… and that means change!!!
