Don’t be nervous. Just be glad you won’t share the same classes with all of the jerks and idiots in your school (who, coincidentally, can’t handle anything but menial work).
For me, the best part about advanced classes was avoiding the majority of people with attitude problems.

Yes. It is. Better than high school, and esp. college I’m guessing, obviously, because the work just gets harder. Just like elementary, kindergarten, and pre-school (if you went), are easier than middle school when you look back at it. But that’s the point, it wasn’t easy when you were there. Maybe for some it was easier than others, but back then it wasn’t the easiest thing ever to even the ‘smart’ kids unless you’re talking pre-k and maybe kindergarten. That’s what a lot of high schoolers, and people in college, forget. Plus, people in college might’ve been in middle school almost A DECADE ago! That doesn’t seem like much, but a lot can change in a schooling system, and the work can get more advanced to meet the ‘criteria’ of good learning. Older people often forget to put themselves in our (middle schooler’s) shoes, and think about how hard it would be for them needing to adjust to the teachers and our new school and all the while excel in ALL of our studies! Almost impossible for a lot of people! And people that are 40 years old or so went to middle school such a long time ago, that they probably won’t fed highschool/freshman-college work! It was definintely much easier to go to school in the 80’s, I believe. That can’t even be debated. The school work just keeps getting harder the more that we as a human race continue to ‘discover’ new things and force them upon the current generations in school, even if they aren’t ready to embrace these really-challenges! Listen, anyone who says modern day middle school isn’t hard for a lot of us would be totally wrong. I’d like to see them go three years like we do. Trust me, nothing lasts forever and I bet looking back at this in college it’ll seem like kindergarten to you. But maybe, if you remember this question and how you felt while writing it, you’ll remember how hard middle school really is. People in the school system try to place struggles upon you so that you can work HARD and learn from your mistakes. And remember teachers only teach what they’re told to. Hopefully you get GOOD teachers, or else your years might be affected poorly and you’ll have an even harder time so try to tell an adult if you’re having trouble in anything or else you might carry those habits and not be prepared for high school, and college, and the effects keep going! I hope all the best for you, and I just realized that this question was posted seven years ago. Either way, whereever you are now I wish you good luck in your life! ~ A 7th Grader.

I totally agree with the other people who answered. You wouldn’t have been put there if you couldn’t handle it. When you’re put in an advanced class, your teachers don’t just put you there because you’re smart, they also look at work habits cuz without those, you’ll struggle. I’ve had advanced classes as well and was worried at first but figured out that it made classes less boring for me. Just do your homework and you’ll be fine. Its really more that the teachers expect more from you, to do your work and stuff, than it is difficult.
