While every person is different, many people have trouble with mathematics due to the misconception that it is somewhat dry and useless in every day life. In fact, math is the glue to the universe and our existance. Here is a nice quote by Paul Erdos; “Why are numbers beautiful? It’s like asking why is Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony beautiful. If you don’t see why, someone can’t tell you. I know numbers are beautiful. If they aren’t beautiful, nothing is.” Of course, for those who don’t find math particularly appealing, they can strengthen their skills through the age old method of hard work and practice. You have to have some things memorized. Obviously you have to now your numbers but there are other things too. I have always suggested that you know you multiplication and division tables as far as twelves. You should be able to add and subtract accurately and fluidly. If you can do those things, then as you move into some higher maths, you don’t have to spend so much time and effort on calculations and can focus on the concepts.

maths is the language of everything..it explains the universe…to the Greeks maths had a very important meaning to them..they practically breathed the stuff…

it would be a good idea to study hard and to love the subject…

but most importantly…live it…think of life in mathematical terms… think of the probability of you winning the lottery next week..how many numbers..how many chances to do have? think of the coordinates of your room and the objects in your room.. think of everything in angles…basketball is actually good for that…

Just live and love it…
