I am taking 13 hours in college and working 40+ hours a week…?

I work second shift at a factory and the college is 45 min. away. I get up at 7:00 every morning, drive 45 min to school, get out at 1:50, drive 45 min back to town and get back at 3:00, then go to work from 3:30 til 11:30. I HAVE NO LIFE!! I just like the money that I make. Where is a different place that I can work, make decent money, and still have time for friends and family??? I hate my life…

Getting a college education is no easy feat, for if it was, everyone would have one. I too worked full-time, attended college full-time, and had no life for seven years. I lost friends, rarely saw my family, and felt as if I was serving a prison sentence! It was rough, but there was no way around it. My advice to you is to not focus at where you are now, but start focusing on the day you will graduate! Think about the new career possibilities and the more $$$ you will be making with your college degree!

Money is nice if you have time left at the end of the day to spend it. SOunds like you dont even have time at the end of the week to spend it. Get a part time job at a sales place, work 6 hour shifts instead of 8 and kick *** on commision to make up for the extra 10- 16 hours a week. Then spend 10 of it enjoying life and if theres an extra six get some extra sleep. Sleep is good.

Here is the best advice I ever received:

Pay your dues now or pay them later…but you will pay them.

You won’t understand what this means until your about 35 years old. But instead of complaining start counting your blessings.

1) Your in school. I would have loved to have been able to go.

2) You are physically able to go. I work with people everyday that can’t even walk up to the front doors let alone though them.

3) You have a job and the economy sucks right now…that’s a blessing. If it is truly that bad then find another.

Do or do not…there is no try!!!

I always found that working in a Bar or the hotel was good for college. You get hours well after class so you get a chnace to rest a bit. you don’t have to waork past midnight and you make really good money with tips even if you’re just a bus boy. of course, you might want to sign up for classes starting a little bit later in the next term to make waking up a littl eeasier and give you more time to sleep..
