200 pages is a pretty small book.
If you are a committed reader you tend to increase your reading speed.
I would expect to be able to read a standard novel (400+pages) in less than 2hours, providing I don’t get interruptions.
When one of my children hadn’t read a book, that was going to be part of an exam, the next day. I speed read it, did a precis of it and then gave him a potted version of it.
He was impressed with the result and shortly after, became a reader.

Well, practice practice practice if you were not born with the talent. I read about this in the Kaplan SAT book: to become a faster reader and still understand the material, lead your finger along a little faster than you normally read in order to urge yourself to go at a quicker pace.

You could try “speed reading” (if you don’t know what it is google it… here is the wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_reading ) or some sort of Cliff Notes. Neither will be as good as reading the book but if you’re in a bind it’s better than nothing at all.

It is going to be hard unless you are a fast reader. You could read and take notes as you read. I would find the book on line and read the summaries.
