How can I get organized for eighth grade?

Like last year in seventh grade.. I’ve lost 5 locks and I had to pay $2 each time to get a new one. I’ve had a overdue book and had to pay like 3 days. I’ve lost homework a couple of times. I mean..I have a binder and put all my papers in there and things. But i dont know how I lose things and stuff. So can anyone help me…? thanks

Getting Organized for school isn’t a problem for me heres what I do.

#1. Wow, I never even lost a lock, Make sure when you use your lock to keep it open but still on the lock area unhooked. So that way you won’t lose it in your locker or however you lose it. Just in case make sure you have one spare in your back pack so that way if you lose it you won’t have to think about people going in your locker.

#2. I got everything I need in my locker its good to be prepared when you do your school shopping dont only get the basics like paper, pencils, binders, erasers ext.. Make sure you get.

*A mirror those once that go on your locker (Magnetic): Cause if theres something wrong with your makeup or something stuck in your teeth you will be able to fix it before going to class.

*Clean ex: In case you just need some..

*Cell Phone holder: If you can find one just get something you can put your cell in so when you need it… it will be easier to find and wont need to go threw all the paper that are loose in your locker. (If you got a cell)

*Pen/Pencil holder: Or something you can put it in, make sure you got enough pencil’s in there. So if you run out you know there will be some in your locker. High litters are also a good idea to put in. Teachers arn’t a “Happy camper” (Sorry, my teacher used to says that.. lol) when your not prepared.

* Two forks/Spoons: In case you forgot them, for your lunch.

*Gum pack: If your alowed to have gum even if not you can still do it, just try not to get caught)

And yeah thats what you will need for your locker.

Now to organize your binders…

Make sure you get the five star binders not the plastics kinds (Expandable binder.. good kind) When you pick one out make sure theres a little pocket so you can put some pencils and pens && Highlighters && Erasers. (Have like 3 pencils, and 2 of the rest) In each binder so when your in class it will just be there. Before school starts have your line paper a bit of white and even dividers. (If you really want to get organized you can even have a loose paper section, in it (That you dont know what belongs where)…) I got that a lot really handy.

Homework: Make sure that in your locker you have a special area just for where your homework goes.. try to finish it 2 days before its due so you won’t have to cram after wards. (The area can be in your back pack)

One last thing, clean out your binders the stuff you dont need you can throw out so it wont make everything so hard and so many loose papers.. lol. (Try doing your two worst binders (Math and Science) ..) During a holliday or a break day like Thanks Giving do it right when you get home so then you can enjoy the rest of your holidays.

Hope this helped && Good luck

Well, in order to be a little more organized instead of simply placing things around periodically where you may lose them, be aware of what you are doing and place the object in a specific place where you can find it later. I’m not sure how you could lose 5 locks. Don’t you keep your lock on the locker? Maybe you should.

Anyway, inside your binder keep separate folders for each class. On one side of you folder keep homework that you need to do and is done, and on the other side keep your classwork. Hopefully that will stop you from losing your homework.

Anyway, I hope you have an absolute blast in 8th grade. If you simply do your assignments, put effort forth, and listen to your teachers you should ace it.

Good luck. : )

Get yourself a daily planning guide – they have them in bookstores and make versions for middle school students. Some come with stickers and colored pens for drawing in the margins – so you don’t have to get a geeky one like an adult would use.

Learn to put down everything that is important in this document. Everything from when math assignments are due, birthday parties, birthdays, vacation days, grocery store lists – there is no wrong thing to keep track of.

Then learn to use it. Take it with you everywhere. Read it everyday. You will find that it helps organize your time, make sure you get assignments turned in on time. It will help you manage your homework time. Make you a hit with your parents when you actually remember someone’s birthday, etc.

Another idea is to organize an area in your room = it doesn’t have to be your whole room. Just a place to put all homework assignments. If you keep it all in one place, no matter what, then you’ll be able to find it to work on. To get really organized, get a box with some files in it. Label one file for every class with homework. Then you’ll really be able to find everything when you need it.

When you look at your planning guide, you’ll know what needs to get turned in, and you’ll be able to go right to it in your homework stack.

Many grades in middle school are for just remembering to turn the assignment in on time. With a little organization, you can become a homework star…

Good luck

That’s easy. You lose things and forget things because you place a low priority on them. Your parents have likely sheltered you from having to feel any pain and you don’t think it is a big deal to lose things.

I would observe that you are not much different from others your age, but there should be some pride in being an organized, dependable, and on-time person no matter your age.
