2 H2O2 —-> 2 H2O + O2

An equation simply shows what you have BEFORE the reaction takes place on the LEFT side of the arrow, and what you have AFTER the reaction takes place on the RIGHT side of the arrow. So in this case, you start with hydrogen peroxide (2 H202), and end with water (2 H2O) and oxygen (O2).

Note: for both water and oxygen to be produced, you need 2 H2O2, not just H2O2. If you only had H2O2, this would come out to H2 + O2 (hydrogen and oxygen). It couldn’t be H2O + O, because oxygen at standard temperature exists as O2, not just O.
