high school schedule?

ok so a few months ago we had to pick a lanuage we wanted to learn in high school

we HAVE to take a language class twice.

like french 1 then french 2

that HAS to be done by the time u graduate from highschool.

its part of the high school curriculum that we pick one lanuage

the choices were:

french

german

spanish

well i chose french cuz i’ve been taught spanish since like 3rd grade or so till 8th grade except 7th cuz it wasn’t in our curriculum

i wanna do something in the medical field like doctor or pharmacist.

do you think its ok i won’t take spanish in highschool at all?

cuz i’ve been taking spanish in elementary and 8th grade.

as long as i remember i’ve been taught spanish so i’d say i know spanish a little and i don’t think i would need spanish to be a doctor

Any language that interests you is worth taking. I live in a multicultural area, and there are doctors that speak Spanish, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, German, and more, including French. However, if you advertise yourself as speaking a second language, you need to be completely fluent in it, which is way beyond 2 years of high school classes (and especially 8th grade level).

It’s true that you don’t need a language to be a doctor, but it would help you get more patients. Many immigrants may know enough English to get by in daily life, but not enough to understand complex medical issues. And even if someone does know a lot of English, many people are most comfortable speaking their first language.

If you dislike Spanish, don’t take it. Keep in mind that you will have a lot more languages to pick from in college, if you wish to actually learn to be fluent in a language.

Edit: Ok, you already know 3 languages. Since you are required to take 2 years of a language, take whichever one is more interesting, so you will be motivated to learn it well enough to get good grades. Don’t worry about people who tell you you have to learn Spanish.

*blinks* what WAS my time table again then? Hm. I bear in mind taking PE a million, Honors Earth/Space, Honors English a million, Geometry, Civics/Geography, Creative Writing a million, French a million, and Tech Theatre a million. Yes, I understand, that is 8 categories, however my tuition’s a bit of exceptional and does shorter categories to slot in extra crap into our brains. Something to maintain in brain is that top tuition has flexibility. It’s now not like middleschool, in which they let you know the whole thing you have got to take. High tuition, you’re required to take the ‘middle’ categories to graduate (math [more commonly three years], technology [two years], english [three years], and social sciences [three years]), and for probably the most facet, you’ll be able to pick what your different categories are in step with the course you wish to move in lifestyles, and even simply for those who feel it perhaps a laugh. In HS, you’ll be able to take the typical monitor, or the Honors monitor, or … dunno find out how to positioned this in a well mannered way… the intellegence-impaired monitor. Hell, I’ve identified men and women who’ve taken the Honors English course, however suck so unhealthy at math that they have got to take remedial categories. So, simply maintain in brain what your person is like and what categories might are compatible them. No, do not allow them to have categories that experience their peers in each and every unmarried magnificence with them, becuase that’s just about not possible. I had a high-quality buddy all by way of prime tuition, and we even took similiar categories, however I under no circumstances as soon as had a category together with her. To supply a few tips, I’ll record off a few middle categories you’ll be able to begin with: Math monitor for newbies: typical: Algebra a million. wise: Geometry. remedial: Math Lab a million. English monitor: typical: English a million. wise: Honors English. remedial: English Study Hall. Science monitor: typical: Biology a million. wise: Semester of H. Bio. a million/ Semester of H. Earth/Space. remedial: Zoology. Social Science monitor: Civics/Geography. For different categories, there may be additionally stuff like Creative Writing, French, Spanish, Drama, Tech, Woodworking, Psychology, Sociology, Choir, Band, Accounting, Business, Web Design, Art, and so forth. Hell, you’ll be able to even make up a category and all you have got to do is positioned a ‘a million’ after it and there ya cross! And for those who do Sophomore yr as good, you’ll be able to tack on a ‘two’. Really, it is not that difficult. Don’t do anything like ‘a hundred and one’ or some thing, becuase that is tuition. Another factor, are the categories all in at some point, or is the tuition going to do a block time table (part the categories at some point, different part the following)? Is the tuition small or enormous? If the tuition is small, definitely it is going to have just one lunch, but when it is bigger it is going to have 2 and even 3 lunch durations. In the best way of a time table, I’ll supply you what my tuition does: 7:30-nine:02 Period a million nine:thirteen-10:forty six Period two eleven:fifty eight-12:25 Lunch A (Lunch A is going to Period three afterwards) eleven:fifty eight-a million:02 Period three (Period three is going to Lunch B afterwards) a million:thirteen-two:forty five Period four And then the time table repeats the next day to come, most effective with Periods five,6,7 and eight. Y’understand, I desire I’m now not simply complicated you extra…

spanish is america’s second language, so mastering spanish, instead of learning french, should have been your choice.

“i don’t think i would need spanish to be a doctor.”

but u dont need to know french to be a doctor either

Since colleges don’t require one or the other, take the one that interests you the most. If you don’t want to take Spanish your grades may suffer if you take it because of lack of interest.
