I think the best way to explore future career paths is to get out into the world and get a taste of it. Go to your local vet clinic and volunteer to spend a day with the animals. Many shelters welcome volunteer work with open hands. You should be able to get a little more perspective on the pros cons and whether or not the job is for you. Then spend some time volunteering at a nursing home. This will give you an idea of the interpersonal relationships that nurses have with their patients. Once you have done this, you should have a much better idea which path you want to take.
