No, it does not make sense. You get ‘shunned’ and not ‘shunned down on’.

I would try hard to fit in with others, just to be shunned (by them) anyway.

I agree with the others. What that statement is, is a mixture of two:

“shunned by”

“looked down on”

Either that, or it is a new LOW in being rejected?

Lose the down on them part. You can be looked down on, but shunned down on I haven’t heard of.

No, it doesn’t make sense.

Try this:

“So and so was shunned by people.”

or

“So and so was shunned by others.”

kinda. it would be better to say ” He was shunned my all of the people ” or someting along those lines
