flag with yellow background with a lion?
Favorite Answer
the flag you saw was the Standard of Scotland
named the Red Lion Rampant.
you might recognise it if youve ever seen the Queens royal standard with Englands standard -red with 3 yellow lions -in the upper left and lower right quadrants, the red lion rampant in the upper right and the standard of ireland – blue with a harp on the bottom left quarter.
the Red Lion rampant is used as an ‘unnofficial’ 2nd flag of Scotland – even though this is actually ILLEGAL according to the Lyon Court (a standing court which regulates Heraldry in Scotland just like the College of Arms does in England.
Nobody has ever been prosecuted for flying this flag though.
im sure if you do a search on it in Wikipedia youll get some more info.. im just goin on what i already know.
