Educational system in California (US)?
I was wondering if an English girl had just turned 18 and she moved to California would she have to attend high school? What is the oldest you have to be for your last mandatory year in school (e.g. in England when you’re 16 and you’ve finished your GCSEs you can leave school)… This is a bit of research for a novel I’m writing so please make your answers simple and to the point. Thanks.

I don’t think that people over the age of 18 are required to go go high school. There are “adult ed” schools that she can go to if she wants to get her diploma/GED.
It has been my experience that the only 18 year olds in high school are graduating seniors.
