does anyone have dyslexia ( which i think i have) well manly i have a learning disabilitie (sp?) (and iep) ect.

and i was just wondering for anyone who has an iep or whatever what is expected form collages cause i cant take a foreign language cause i mean i seriously cant cause i can barley understand the English language so how am i gunna learn a new one? also im ion all slower classes is that ok? Collage prep classes go way to fast for me.

now obviously im not looking to go to Harvard i just want to get into a decent collage.

ps; if you don’t know what an i.e.p is it stands for Individualized Education Program which means people make up ways for me to learn cause i have learing problems google it.

THANKS SO MUCH 🙂

I made it through college WITH dyslexia and NO IEPs — they didn’t exist then. It takes work and you’ll have to work harder than other people. AND it’s not true that you can’t learn a foreign language! I can function in both Spanish and German!

I believe part of the problem is too much reliance on IEPs, special classes and help.

In your position, I’d start at a junior or community college for your “gen ed” work and see how hard it is to get an associate degree. At that point, you can decide if you want a four year degree or to enter the work force.

Good Luck.

Those “college prep” classes are a watered down sample of what college work will be like. I’m not saying it’s impossible to earn a college degree, but it’s going to be a lot of dedication and work on your part. Most schools will require you to take college prep classes in order to be admitted. For example: you would need Algebra I, Algebra II, AND Geometry. Having these in high school will make it easier on you once you get in.
