Teachers often give a lot of credit for homework. Even if you understand the material perfectly, you can ruin your grades by not doing homework, and you will rarely have time to finish your homework while at school. I’m sure some schools have programs to help students work on their homework while at school, but such a program is not standard across all high schools, mine did not have such. If you have problems applying yourself at home, many teachers would be willing to help you out in planning your time.

Everyone would like to be able to chill and home and not worry about school, but it’s not a reality. You probably won’t be able to succeed without doing work at home, as much as you might not like it, but if you plan and budget your work time with leisure time, you should be able to have plenty of free time while also finishing your work.

High school, at least for me, was pretty easy, and I think it’s not too difficult if you actually apply yourself and always ask for help when it’s needed. Difficulty, however, will vary from school to school, as different states and districts have different standards.

Is hs easy in America? Well, i guess that depends on who you are and how difficult your classes are going to be. I don’t think NOT doing your homework at home is a good idea…obviously your teachers gave it to you because they wanted you to have extra practice. I know for sure that there are after school programs at the schools that I’ve seen and attended…however, if your hs doesn’t have any, you can always go to the library afterschool and finish your homework there.

Although I think it is important to stay active and relax with family, it is also important to make sure that your studies are one of your priorities. At this stage in your life, school is your only job that you have to really be successful in…no easy ways out, just suck it up and do what is necessary. Just try to manage and organize your time so that you have time for fun and work!

Sorry, but you’ll need to do you homework. Your tests and finals are more important to your grade, but if you don’t do the work, you’ll be penalized. If you’re lucky enough to go to a HS that has optional Study Hall, take it. It’s a non-class during school that’s used to work on your schoolwork, that way you can get some done before you get home.

Oh, and HS is all in what you put into it. If you’re smart (sounds like you are) and put effort into it, then yes, school will be easy for you. Not a walk in the park, but certainly not difficult.

Some schools have an after school care program or something. You could always just do your homework in the library before going on. The school I went to actually had an Independant Study time where we could do homework and study for upcoming tests. You could also ask you parents to drop you off at a coffee shop after school so you can do your homework if doing it at home makes you not feel like doing it. Sometimes though, you have to do it at home for like projects and stuff. Anyway, good luck!

Some homework are graded so you should still do homework even if you’re ‘smart’. There’s always study hall to finish your work at school so you don’t have to take them home! And your question about high school in America, I would not know because I’ve never been to high school anywhere out of the U.S.

There often are after-school programs or study groups, but it depends on the school. Honestly, and this is coming from experience…if you don’t do your homework, your grades will fall very quickly. My first year or two of high school, I just didn’t care – I knew the stuff, I did well on tests, I just didn’t see the point of doing my homework. By midterms of my sophomore year, I had a 1.8 GPA [out of 4.0]. Not good.

Halfway through my sophomore year, I finally got my head on straight and started doing my work consistently. I had to really work my tail off, and I had to take weighted AP classes to do it, but I graduated above 3.5. Again, I still did well on my exams, but the difference came in doing my homework and doing it well.

Part of the reason for the homework in high school is to prepare you for college and career. Believe me, your college professors aren’t going to care one bit whether you feel like doing the work they assign…they’ll just plain drop you from their class. Your future boss won’t care whether you feel like doing your job…he’ll just fire you. Jr. high and high school, hard as they may be, are a lot of what forms that discipline in you. It’s a lot easier to learn that discipline now, when only your grades are on the line, than later…when a lot more is at stake.

Do your homework 🙂

Homework counts for a grade.

You will definitely fail if you don’t do your homework, regardless of how smart you are.

In most of my classes, major grades (projects, test, essays, etc.) count for 60% and minor grades (homework, quizzes, etc.) count for 40%.

In Texas, where I live, an overall 70% is required to pass the class, but I believe in most states the requirement is 60%. Luckies. >:[

I don’t think there are usually programs after school, but you may be able to find a classroom in the morning or after school where the teacher comes early/stays late. You can explain to her how hard it is for you to concentrate with distractions at home and he or she most likely won’t mind you staying until they leave.

PS: Good luck in school!

Well in most classes homework is a huge part of your grade so if you can do ur homework before each class (which I doubt) You’ll be fine. But I recommend you do your homework its not hard at all and it usually on takes 20 minutes to and hour

It depends if you are taking honors/AP classes or just regular college prep courses. You can still do well in CP classes without doing the homework, but for advanced classes homework is a must!
