Around what age does highschool stop in England??

Okay I am going to be an exchange student in about a year and I will be 16. But I heard that some people over there were in college when they were 16. So I was just wonder when does highschool stop and college begin (about what age…for most people)

Here’s how it works in England:

5yrs-16yrs= compulsory education qualifications such as SAT’S and GCSE’s

16yrs- 18yrs= A choice of further education i.e. College or Sixth Form to study for qualifications such as A Levels, Btec, NVQ’s,QNVQ’s etc

18yrs + = Higher education i.e. University to study qualifications such as degrees i.e. BSc, Masters,PHD
