Any way to make this life better without making it worse? (description for more info)?

So I’ve been spending pretty much the whole summer in Singapore, hanging out with my dad, and then my mom and little sister come. My little sis and I play “way too much on the computer”, as quoted by my mom, but we only play around an hour a day. which really isn’t that much. But…my mom and dad talked about it, and they’ve decided to ground us. Once we get back to our hometown we can’t play any games on the computer, IM people, or watch TV unless for school purposes. Now that school is coming up, and all the extracurricular stuff that’s putting pressure on me, is there any way that I can enjoy this all-work routine? All suggestions welcome here =)

Wow, I really feel for you. Your parents must be strict and have very unrealistic expectations.

I think if you will try to rebell, they are going to make things harder and harder. I would just stay after school and use their computer to do stuff. I know on those computers you can’t play any good games that you have at home & can’t use msn for friends.

Your parents just want to bully you into behaving, so the best way is to make them think that you are obeying what they say and giving in to them. That makes them feel that they can control and have power over you. If you successfully make them think this, they will believe that they have won.

You can go to the library or use other computers to watch TV on the internet or spend a lot of time with YouTube.

wow, parents could be hard sometimes, but we like to think its for our own good. my advice is to try to enjoy the time you have and take the time to study or read a book, benefit from it dont think like its a punishment instead do something productive.
