Any one ever hear about online classes at Penn Foster?
Because I would love more than any thing to be a vet-tech, and they offer online classes, which are really cheap. Should I go for it? I don’t know if this is a scam or not… I can use any ones opinion!

I am currently enrolled in Penn Foster and I think it’s the best program out there. Penn Foster vet tech is accredited, legit and in good standing with the BBB.
As for getting hands on experience, after semester 2 and 4 you have to put so many hours at a veterinary clinic and the veterinarian fills out forms and information about your performance.
You learn a lot from the school, you have online classes you have to attend and message boards you have read. It is worth in my opinion.

It is not a scam. You can learn quite a bit, but the big problem is that you will have no hands-on training. I called around a few vet offices, and they said if someone applied with an online degree, as opposed to a person with a “regular” degree, the person with hand-on experience would be considered first. A couple of them told me that with that background they would be willing to train the right person.
