Colleges look more at your Senior year then your Jr., go talk to your counselor, there are tons of scholarships available that you could qualify for. Good scores the SAT or ACT would help very much.

Wow, you really shouldn’t freak out about a 3.0 GPA…Trust me, you’ll get into a school.

Any SAT score above roughly 1080 on the old 1600 point scale is average, 1620 out of 2400. I think 540 is close to average on the 3 parts.

I’m from the east coast so the ACT isn’t as popular out here.

If you are involved in activities at school and do decent on your SATs, you will get into a pretty decent school.

As for scholarships, I have no idea. I go to Boston College and they don’t give merit scholarships unless you are good enough to get their Presidential Scholarship, which is a full ride.

There is much more to the admissions process than your grades – and 3.0 is nothing to shake a stick at either. Just be a well-rounded student and you can get into a wealth of schools.

I think so many teachers and parents try to scare students into doing well in high school. If you plan to go to Harvard or MIT then I would say you might rethink your choice. But if you plan on going to a public institution, which there are so many great high raked public institutions in America, then I would say you should have no problem. Here is a little story. I did all right in high school 3.75 GPA and I slept through the SATs and got an 1100. I got accepted to a great school in Texas. I got grants, which you do not have to payback so many students do not know there is a difference between student loans and grants. I did all right in college 3.0 GPA. Took the GRE did terrible got in to graduate school barely passed every class got a MS. Got a great job right out of school 50G’s a year. I have very little student loan debt and I did very little studying. Stop worrying you will be fine.

Of course you’ll be able to get into college! A scholarship, on the other hand, will be hard to achieve. I suggest trying to get into Arizona State. They have very low qualifications and it will be quite easy to get in to xD For your SAT’s, get a 1500 or something.
