Infatuation, a little obsesssion. Not lust, a little of love. But definitely infatuation with each other

Can a teenage be “in love”? Do they have the mental capability to know what love really is?

Who am I to say they don’t love their significant other?

Do any of us really fully understand love? Real love. A great romance or sorts.

My second biggest pet peeve is people who label their emotions too quickly as “being in love”. They mistake this desire for another person as love, when it is only just an infatuation with being wanted… or lust…

love is self sacrifice, and an action word. A feeling of devotion… something that develops over time…

Infatuation is object of extravagant, like a short-lived passion… puppy love… love at first sight…

most people don’t know what true love is… we say “I love this restaurant!” “I love CSI” “I love Cheetos” ” I love chocolate” “I love my Prada hand bag”

True love seems to have gotten lost…

It kind of depends on your acceptance of the concept of love at first sight. The romantics out there believe you can find see someone across a crowded room and fall in “instant love”. But, to me, they really seemed to be in lust. It was the whole teenage attraction of falling in love with an idea instead of reality with its consequences. I do believe they both needed something or they were both missing something that the other person provided. I also believe they depended on each other and grew to care deeply for one another.

I don’t believe anyone that age can be love someone the way people should when they marry. They are just beginning to explore their sexuality, they don’t really know who they are, and their brains won’t even mature for 8 or 10 more years. Kids that age often mistake sexual attraction for love. So I vote lust.

if you’re cynical you say “LUST”

if you’re a romantic you say “LOVE”. as a romantic, i’d certainly say it was love. lust will not cause you to die for someone else. nor will it cause you to forsake everything you know.

but part of the appeal of romeo and juliet is the paradox was it lust or love, us against them?

Yeah i agree with you.

Maybe i’m a cynic, but you can’t possibly love someone in the absolute sense of the word without knowing anything about them.

This is a very valid point and you’re awesome to have pointed it out!

Hard to say. Perhaps it would have passed with time, but lightning can strike at any age. When I watch the play or read the words, it feels like love to me.

A little bit of both. If it was just lust than they would not kill themselves because the other one died. But no one can fall in love in like one hour. Hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
