Would it be entirely unnecessary for me to go to law school in order to conduct international business?

Upon completion of my education, I am going to start (and eventually run) a family import business. The business’s main purpose is to manufacture furniture in Southeast Asia and then ship it to the US.

I do not mean to sound like a jack ***, but I am very skilled in reading and writing, and I am very interested in the law which is why I am interested in law school. Also, funding my education is not a problem. However, I may never ACTUALLY practice law even if I go through law school. Like I said, I might just start directly with the import business.

Advice or suggestions of any kind? Thanks in advance!

Oh and as far as my undergraduate education is concerned, I am at least going to major in something business related with possible another major or minor in a humanity.

If money isn’t an issue, go to law school. Law will touch every aspect of your future profession in international business, and this will give you a significant edge over your competitors. Depending on the law school, you might be able to focus on international business in your last two years of school. You will also have the degree to “fall back on” should you decide to change course later.

If you are skilled in reading and writing, you will do well in law school, and in law in general. Contrary to popular belief, most of studying and practicing law involves legal research, reading cases, and writing. I am in my last semester of law school, and, without exception, all of my classmates have excellent writing skills, and I have read a minimum of 500 pages per class (over the semester).

Undergrad-wise, if you plan to apply to law school, my advice is to major in something you enjoy. Law schools will not care what you majored in, unless it was something extraordinarily obscure/weird/interesting. Mostly they care about your GPA.

Finally, even on the worst day, I have loved every day of law school. I find law even more interesting than I did when I started school. But, then, I want to be a lawyer, so that might explain it.

Look at World historical past throughout durations like The Crusades,or The Inquisition, and you are going to have your reply.Every location that has been dominated over totally by means of their Religion has been a real horror to behold, with only a few exceptions. Even in trendy global we will see nearly all of the Middle East, wherein the complete thought of human rights is only a fable. There is also relative peace at the floor in a few of the ones international locations now not at conflict, however even within the apparently ordered societies there’s an undercurrent of anything way more vile.I can’t suppose dwelling in a society dominated totally by means of the Dogmas of any of the Abrahamic religions, the least repulsive of them being Judaism,a minimum of in train. But even they may be able to get instead nasty while the possibility arises,Crucifixion any person? The factor being, our first-rate wager for peaceable co-life is available in virtually totally secular societies. If others want to hold directly to their historical myths and superstitions that is nice, however they have to hold it to themselves for essentially the most side. Obama666

If you don’t intend to use your education in some form, then I think you may have a difficult time persuading a professional program to accept you. Granted, some will be happy to take your money and credit for your success in business, but others will advise you to read some case law on your own if you’re just interested in it for your own edification. You would probably be a good fit for an MBA/JD joint degree program – but again, you’d have to demonstrate that you needed the legal portion.

Law is boring. My dream is to go to law school also. What I love about the love is that you can use it to your benefit. A person is only truly free if they know the law, and ways to bend it in their favor. Law is boring, but it is very useful. Also, having a law degree allows you to have great satisfaction and respect from others.
