Why the United States Constitution is the “Supreme Law of the Land”?

I have tried to find the answer to the question by reading the information in my textbook but it does not seem to be in there. I need some references and websites that will help to better explain this question. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

In the Constitution, there is the Supremacy Clause.

I have included it here:

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.

The Supremacy clause is the one which establishes the Constitution as the Supreme Law of the Land. Why does it do this? Because we want all of our states to have similar laws. We don’t want disparity. That is why we have the U.S. Supreme Court which determines any kind of Constitutional question. The Constitution is the highest law in the land, and state court judges are required to uphold it, EVEN IF state law conflicts with federal law.

You can google the “supremacy clause” and find out more info that way if you need more for your research.

To avoid room for the institution of a monarchy. Please keep in mind our forefathers were avoiding the recognition of a throne. Which is also why Presidents must be born on U.S. soil as well. (extra credtit)
