Wrong, you should respect a sub as well. First of all, subs have a nasty habit of leaving notes, and if you act up, teachers look bad. It makes them appear as if they can’t control the children, and so, you all get a bad rep. On top of that, teachers also love to get revenge.
Let’s say you’re supposed to read a chapter in the textbook while you’re teacher is away. And you, being dumb, ignores instructions and don’t read. You’re teacher sees the not, feels embarrassed, and then gives you a test on it.
See how that could backfire.
Be safe, be respectful, you may be rewarded.

That’s rotten of you and you know it. Substitute teachers do not get paid as much as your regular teacher, they’re often moms or people trying to make money doing part-time work. They don’t know you like your real teacher, all they do is come in and try to pick up where they left off and do a day’s work.

First of all, you should respect substitute teachers because they are your elders, and they are in an authority position. Substitutes are just doing their jobs. Substitutes are college educated people who deserve the respect of the students. Substitutes have a hard job because they have to deal with all of the snotty little kids who think they don’t have to listen to or obey the sub.
