A parallelogram has two long sides of equal length and two short sides of equal length. A rectangle does as well, however with a rectangle all corners are 90 degrees, whereas a parallelogram also encompases other shapes where the angles are not 90 degrees.

A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides.

A rectangle is simply a parallelogram of which the angles are 90 degrees.

A square is simply a rectangle of which all the sides are equal.

Because it has 4 sides ans two of them are parallel 2 by 2, which is the definition of a parallelogram.

If it ALSO has right angles, it is a rectangle.

If all its sides have the same lenght it is a square…
