Arabs learned that the embargo was not having the desired effect. local gasoline prices in USA went from 25-60 cents per gallon (yeah, hard to believe we were paying 25-27 cents for gas. tax on it is higher than that now)
got a really good deal on a big v-8 dodge when it started. there never really was a shortage of gasoline
