They could be reported in almost every monetary denomination

It is easier for people to understand if it is expressed in the denomination of their own country.That is one reason why we use dollars in the US

If other countries use dollars it is because the dollar is so well know because of the trade, power and influence of the US. In many countries you will not have a problem in paying with US dollars instead of their native currency.

as u may be knowing the us$ is the most influential & the strongest currency in the world . it is accepted world wide without any exceptions. also the power of any other currency of the world is measured by its value with respect to the us dollar. thus $ is becomes the base of all currency exchange worldwide. the gdp and gnp of a country, if expressed in the local currency , is only understood by the locals. but if the same is expressed in $ it is acknowledged worldwide.
