I hat to read that book for history, it was actually okay. But I just got done reading Memoirs of a Geisha, and its a lot better then the movie. It’s about the life of one of the most renown Geisha in Japan. It’s very interesting to hear about a culture so different from ours, and refers a lot to WWII and the bombings and such. I totally recommend it. I would also recommend the Other Boleyn Girl, and it comes from Anne Boleyn’s sister’s point of view. It’s not so much a memoir but it’s VERY juicy. It’s a long book and it gets slow I think once but it’s based on actual events and a lot of true facts. The movie was really REALLY stupid compared to it. I read the book before I saw the movie and I was totally disappointed. But if you liked either of those movies you will like those books.
