I don’t think it really matters which topic you choose. What truly DOES matter is how good you are at captivating your audience with your narrative. Be sure to be descriptive and to include lots of attention to detail. For example, think of your five senses – touch, taste, see, hear, smell. Your narrative should express how each of these senses was impacted by your experience so that the people who are listening to you can actually imagine experiencing the event themselves. Endeavor not to be too repetitive with your adjectives and adverbs (use a thesaurus if necessary) and ensure that you tell your anecdote with a good clear speaking voice full of inflection.
The best of luck to you!

I think the first time riding an airplane is more life changing and personal. Additionally, being chased by a dog would probably be a rather short narrative.

First time in an airplane…but make sure to focus on where you were going, how you felt, and why you were going to this particular place, maybe it was for a much needed vacation, or maybe it was to go to a relative’s funeral…..
