Where can I find a modernized version of “The Scarlet Letter”?
I have to read it for a summer paper, and, even with the help of CliffsNotes, I just can’t understand it the way it’s written. The paper is due before school starts, and I’ve been struggling with the book all summer. I know there has to be a modernized vesion out there, I just can’t find one. Can someone help me?

sorry… maybe you could check out the 1979 mini film version? (not the 1995 one 😛 ) Have you tried asking your friends (who are also reading it)?
*edit- all right, what are you having trouble with? The style (i.e. trying to read “Huck. Finn” was a struggle to get started) how far are you in the book (what has just happened?) – I’d give you a book, but I don’t know of one. The only other thing that comes to mind is Sparknotes.

Check out the extremely cheesy movie version with Demi Moore. Perhaps that will help give you an idea of the story.
