The media impact will be the strongest the farther away that the media’s opion is from public opition. Shouldn’t the media opinion ( impact) be the public’s opinion. All the media does is report on our opinion.

The media’s impact on public opinion will be strongest when the issue under discussion involves either national policy (war) or flambouyant personalities (OJ Simpson) or a local issue that has people sharply divided (tolerance for smokers)
The dependence of most people on media for their information, and for attitude-shaping, is pretty frightening. It’s easier to nod your head and agree with whatever the TV newscaster says, or with what you read on the front page of your newspaper. The number of people who question what they are told, and find independent sources of information, is minimal. And that’s a pity.
