What would the complete and simple subjects in be in this sentence??!?

“The coach” is the coplete subject because it includes everything up to the verb. This would include any adjectives had there been any. “coach” is the simple subject beacuse it is the one noun at the beginning of the sentence.

You are getting some bad advice here (and one good answer).

“The coach” is both the simple and the complete subject. If it said “the excellent coach”, then “the coach” would be the simple subject, and “the excellent coach” would be the complete subject (simple subject plus its modifiers).

But there is no way that “the team” is any part of the subject. It’s the object.
