Hmm I’d probably choose similar religions such as Mormonism and Christianity as you would be able to provide more details in areas where as if you chose more different religions such as Islam and Judaism you may have to be more broad on issues.

I think any comparision would be interesting though

Not all Christians do this. As somebody who used to follow that philosophy, I may be able to give you an answer, though. I would say those exact things because of all the differences I’d find in churches I’d go to. I’d become so frustrated with trying to figure out what I was “supposed” to believe, I finally gave up. I grabbed my Bible and started reading. I do have a personal relationship with Jesus, and through the Bible I learned the way He wanted me to live. Therefore, I didn’t identify myself with any certain denomination of Christianity. I simply lived as the Bible told me I should.

I believe that if you were looking for religions that would make fore a interesting essay, Islam and Christianity, they have alot of similarities, and some differences for contrast.

I’m a broader thinker, so I would think along the lines of American vs. European christianity or Asiatic faith vs. tribal customs. Any essay on religious comparisons should be thought provoking so make sure it’s a doctrine that is worth comparing. American Indian beliefs vs. Scientology would be an example of irrelevence.
