Earlier this year many variations of bones were found in a remote area on the western side of the United States. Scientists concluded that the bones belonged to a small population of Neanderthals. At a meeting for the United Nations, delegates were arguing the case for including them under the protection of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. I’m am a lawyer charged with arguing the case. I believe that Neanderthals should be considered humans, and for many reasons. First off, Neanderthals had a way of communication, they could exchange ideas and make advancements if they had not died out. Scientists have also found a skeleton of a child, that has both, modern human and neanderthal resemblance. Another reason is that scientists and all people consider early homo sapiens humans because of the similarities between the two, but neanderthals have many characteristics that we, modern humans have today, so I believe they should be considered human too.
