Besides being a tourist trap.. It is prime office space.

The Empire State Building is an office building. They rent space out to different sized companies who each rent so many square feet of space to accomodate their needs. The building went up in the early 1930s and its design is called Art Decco. There are observation decks at two different levels and you can see most of New York City from the top. Of course, it was the building in a lot of movies, like “King Kong” and “Sleepless in Seattle”. Some people get married there and I am sure there is a website that can give you more information about the ESB. I wish you luck on the assignment.

It’s basically office buildings on most of the floors. They also make good money for selling tickets to tourists who want to go to the top (like me!)
