It depends where in the equator the dot is! The equator goes all the way around the earth, and so is in both the Eastern and the Western hemisphere (it separates the northern from the southern hemispheres).

Look at where the dot is in relation to the prime meridian to find your answer.

That depends on the place. The equator is at 0 degrees latitude. But, to know whether it’s in the eastern or western hemisphere you would have to locate its longitude. That will be western if it shows as W, or eastern if it shows E. Check an atlas for that information. For example, the highest point on the equator is 4,690 m (15,387′), at 00°00′00″S, 77°59′31″W on the south slopes of Volcán Cayambe (summit 5,790 m, 18,996′) in Ecuador. Therefore, that point is in the western hemisphere.

Since the equator goes completely around the middle of the world it is in BOTH East and West hemispheres, , but as it divides North and South it cannot be in either north or south

Sounds like a very silly question

The answer should be both since a a line of latitude it encompasses both the eastern and western hemispheres.
