your five senses: touch=temp, texture, pleasure, pain, etc

+ smells & odors (very important because they are so strongly linked to memory)

+ tastes and flavors and foods

+ sounds & rhythms

+ sights, colors, etc.

Generally when people describe something they tend to give a conclusion instead of the details which lead to the conclusion: “I saw a man at the corner, he looked mean so I crossed the street.” vs “A ragged serviceman in his old gray uniform slouched against a lamppost, and its yellow glare cast his long shadow ominously across my path. But the breeze brought me a whiff of the gunpowder and oily rags of an artillery gunner. It was then I glanced at his dark face: Joe Stewart!”

That sort of thing.

Sensory details are details that you get from your five senses: hear, smell, see, taste, and touch. So, if you’re in a park or something, you’d say that you can hear the birds chirping, smell freshly cut grass, see children playing tag, taste the sandwich that you are ..somehow eating.. and feel the bench that you are sitting on.
