Experimental group is the group on which the rogue element is tested. For example: In a clinical drug trial, the experimental group gets the new drug that’s being tested for FDA approval.

Control group is the group that’s given a known element with predictable results. Example, as above, the control group is given either a placebo or already-approved treatment.

Control variables: a variable which remains unchanged throughout the trial. Only one variable can be changed for results to be accurate.
